YOUTH CLASSICS Swiss International Music Academy
July 16th - 25th, 2021
The Swiss International Music Academy is intended for talented and advanced musicians aiming to study music as well as for music university students. The course content includes advanced engagement with technical and musical subjects, interpretation of works and/or preparation for competitions, exams and auditions. Participants should be challenged at both a musical and personal level.

Workshop and individual consultation about sound optimizing, sound adjustments and active participation in the process of building a violin with internationally renowned luthier Stefan-Peter Greiner.

Award SIMA 2021: In cooperation with the renowned violin makers company Hill & Sons London, YOUTH CLASSICS will award 2 violins for 2 years to selected participants of the 11th Swiss International Music Academy 2021.

During the Swiss International Music Academy, all participants live on the Musikinsel Rheinau campus.

Tuition fee
All prices per person.
Every student who is accepted to the academy 2021 receives a full scholarship for the course fee. The fee includes only room and board (double- or multi- bed room, 3 meals a day)
Costs for room & board SIMA 2021, departure on July 25th, 2021, directly after the final concert:
CHF 890.- or Euro 820.-
Application fee: CHF 100.- or Euro 100.-
Applications without bank receipt proving the payment of the application fee will not be processed.
The application fee will be subtracted from the total costs. In case the applicant does not receive a place at the SIMA 2021 due to too many applications, the application fee will be paid back.
In case the participant cancels his/her participation, the application fee can not be refunded.

Family members:
Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents/adult siblings who accompany participants pay CHF 95 or EUR 90 per night and per person for a double room with full board.
All prices are per person and include statutory value added tax applicable at the headquarters of YOUTH CLASSICS.

Scholarship in case of participation at the orchestra project 2021
A scholarship of 600 CHF can be given in case of participation at the orchestra project 2021 by the PreCollege Orchestra Zurich. This option is only possible for music college students. Due to a limited number of places, YOUTH CLASSICS will select the candidates for the orchestra project. In case of being accepted to the project, participation is mandatory.
Concert program: Dmitri Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 and Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 3, «Eroica». The information concerning rehearsal and concert dates is available on attached project schedule.
